The “old” widebody that’s making a massive comeback.

If you thought the Airbus A330-300 was on its way out, 2026 has a surprise for you. Market values for the -300 variant have seen a 20% surge since early 2025. In the current “glacial” pace of new widebody deliveries, airlines are desperately seeking “bridge” capacity.

The engineering appeal of the A330ceo lies in its mature supply chain. While newer widebodies face component shortages, the A330’s parts and engine support (Trent 700) are widely available. Many SEA carriers are now opting for cabin retrofits—spending $15M to $25M to modernize interiors—rather than waiting five years for a new delivery.

Investment Outlook:

The A330-300 is currently the most cost-effective widebody for the “medium-haul” 4-8 hour missions common in Asia. It offers a unique window for high-yield returns before the next generation of widebodies eventually floods the market.
